Battery & Charging Systems: Generator: Installation
- Install generator through wheel well.
- Install lower pivot bracket and tighten bolts to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.).
- Loose install the upper and lower mounting bolts. (Figure
).
- Connect the generator field circuit wiring connector. Push the RED
locking tab to lock.
- Install the B+ terminal nut and wire.
- Install the generator drive belt.
- Lower vehicle.
- Tension belt. Refer to DRIVE BELTS
for belt tension specification.
- Tighten adjustment bolt.
- Tighten the jam nut.
- Raise vehicle and support.
- Tighten lower mounting bolt and tighten bolts to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.).
- Install splash shield. (Figure
).
- Lower vehicle.
- Connect battery cable. (Figure
).
