Illuminated Entry Time Out Feature Inoperative With Side/Rear Doors

Possible Causes:
- Auxiliary Door Switch Sense Circuit Open
- Auxiliary (Rear) Door Switch Open
- Auxiliary (Side) Door Switch Open
- CTM Auxiliary Door Switch Circuit Open
Testing
- Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Disconnect White 18-pin Central Timer Module (CTM) harness connector C2. Gain access to and disconnect suspect side or rear door ajar switch harness connector. Using a DVOM, measure resistance of Brown/Tan wire between suspect door ajar switch harness connector and CTM harness connector C2 terminal No. 15. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Brown/Tan wire circuit.
- Connect CTM connector C1. Ensure rear door ajar switch is properly grounded. Disconnect rear door ajar switch harness connector. Connect fused jumper wire between ground and rear door ajar switch harness connector. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. Using scan tool, read AUXILIARY DOOR SW status. If scan tool does not display AUXILIARY DOOR SW: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays AUXILIARY DOOR SW: CLOSED, replace rear door ajar switch.
- Reconnect and reinstall rear door ajar switch. Ensure side door ajar switch is properly grounded. Disconnect side door ajar switch harness connector. Connect fused jumper wire between ground and side door ajar switch harness connector. Using scan tool, read AUXILIARY DOOR SW status. If scan tool does not display AUXILIARY DOOR SW: CLOSED, replace CTM. See CENTRAL TIMER MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If scan tool displays AUXILIARY DOOR SW: CLOSED, replace side door ajar switch.
