Air Bag Verification Test

  1. Disconnect any previously connected jumper wires and tools. Reconnect any previously disconnected components and connectors, except battery. Turn ignition on, then reconnect battery.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool with most current scan tool software available, clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). Turn ignition off and wait 15 seconds. Turn ignition on and wait one minute.
  3. Using scan tool, read active DTCs. If no active DTCs are present, read stored DTCs. If any DTCs are present, go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM and perform corresponding test(s). If no DTCs are present, repair is complete.
