Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Front Control Module (FCM) is mounted to front of Intelligent Power Module (IPM). See Figure. Remove battery from vehicle. Using a long, flat-blade screwdriver, carefully pry IPM retaining clips to allow IPM to be rotated upward to access FCM.
  2. Remove screws retaining FCM to IPM. Using both hands, pull FCM straight out from IPM connector until FCM is clear of IPM. Remove FCM from vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten FCM retaining screws to 7 INCH lbs. (1 N.m).
