Section 110 (Cruise Control Systems): Switch: Removal

The speed control switches are mounted in the steering wheel and wired through the clock spring device under the airbag module.

WARNING: IF REMOVAL OF AIRBAG MODULE IS NECESSARY, REFER TO AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS ARTICLE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
  1. Remove the negative battery cable.
  2. Turn off ignition.
  3. Remove the air bag, refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS for more information.
  4. Remove the screw from bottom of the switch.
  5. Remove switch from steering wheel.
  6. Disconnect two-way electrical connector.
  7. Repeat for the other switch.
