Window Motor: Removal

WARNING: REFER TO RESTRAINTS - SERVICE INFORMATION BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY DOOR, SEAT, STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/RESTRAINTS - WARNING) .

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the door interior trim panel. (Refer to BODY/DOOR - FRONT/TRIM PANEL - REMOVAL) .
  3. Carefully peel back the door watershield (1) enough to expose the power window motor attachment rivets and harness connector.

    NOTE: Use caution to properly support the power window motor before drilling rivets.
  4. Disconnect the power window motor harness connector (1).
  5. Drill out the three power window motor attaching rivets (2).
  6. Remove the power window motor from the door.
