Engine Assembly

  1. Install the engine into the vehicle.

  2. Install one bell housing bolt.
  3. Torque the bolt to 38 N.m (28 ft.lbs.)

  4. Install the right motor mount bolt.
  5. The front engine mount to engine support bolt is torqued to 58 Nm (42 ft. lbs.).
  6. The engine support to crankcase bolts are torqued to 20 Nm (177 in. lbs.) and then tightened an additional 90 degrees.

  7. Install the left motor mount bolt.
  8. The front engine mount to engine support bolt is torqued to 58 Nm (42 ft. lbs.).
  9. The engine support to crankcase bolts are torqued to 20 Nm (177 in. lbs.) and then tightened an additional 90 degrees.
  10. Remove the floor jack from the transmission.
  11. Remove the engine lift.

  12. Connect the generator electrical connector.

  13. Install the remaining bell housing bolts.
  14. Torque the bell housing bolts to 38 N.m (28 ft.lbs.)

  15. Install the torque converter bolts and torque to 50 N.m (37 ft.lbs.).

  16. Install the starter.
  17. Install the starter bolts.
  18. Connect the B+ wire from the starter.
  19. Torque the starter to block bolts to 40 Nm (30 ft lbs).
  20. Torque the circuit 30 nut to 14 Nm (124 in. lbs.)
  21. Torque the circuit 50 nuts to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.)

  22. Install the bolts for the left exhaust flange.
  23. Install the bolts for the right exhaust flange.
  24. Torque the catalytic converter to exhaust manifold bolts to 20 Nm (177 in. lbs.)

  25. Connect the oxygen sensor connectors at the connector bracket.
  26. Install the front lower sound shield.
  27. Lower the vehicle on the hoist.

  28. Connect the coolant level sensor.
  29. Connect the engine ground strap.

  30. Install the transmission dip stick bolts.

  31. Install the PCM.
  32. Connect the PCM connectors.

  33. Connect the fuel lines at the fuel rail.

  34. Connect the canister purge lines.

  35. Connect the electric fan connector.

  36. Install the radiator support. Make sure the radiator support location lines up with the marks made on the frame during the removal process.

  37. Install the lower radiator hose.
  38. Install the upper radiator hose.
  39. Install the heater hose lines from the extension line.
  40. Install the transmission cooler lines from the radiator.

  41. Install the condenser lines.
  42. Install the condenser line bolt.
  43. Connect the A/C pressure sensor.
  44. Connect the power steering fluid lines.
  45. Fill the power steering fluid.
  46. Fill the coolant.

  47. Install the lower sound shield.
  48. Install the front fascia assembly.
  49. Install the license plate holder and step grip plate.
  50. Install the head lamp trim panel.
  51. Install the head lamp trim panel screws.
  52. Install the grill assembly.

  54. Connect the battery ground.

  55. Close the hood.
