S/P Tandem Pump Pressure Test

  1. Remove fuel pressure test port cap (2).

  2. Install fuel pressure adapter 9938 (1).
  3. Connect a 200 psi fuel pressure gauge (2).
  4. Start engine and run at 4,000 RPM, monitor fuel pressure.
  5. If the minimum specification of 1050 kPa (152 psi) is reached the tandem pump is OK.

  6. If the minimum specification was obtained, clamp off the return line between the tandem pump and the fuel filter.
  7. If the minimum specification is obtained, replace the unit injector O-rings.
  8. Remove the fuel pressure gauge (2) and fuel pressure adapter 9938 (1).

  9. Install fuel pressure test port cap (2).
