Installation






2.7L





Starter with starter dust shield, make sure of proper orientation of dust shield.





1. Rotate starter into location.





2. Tip starter up and locate dust shield into place.





3. Start starter middle and lower mounting bolts





4. Tighten bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).





5. Connect the battery cable and tighten nut to 8.5 Nm (75 in. lbs.).

6. Connect solenoid connector.





7. Install front anti-roll mount bracket and start bolts.





8. Install the engine anti-roll mount and bolts (1) and (2). Tighten to 50 Nm (37 ft.lbs.)





9. Start the upper starter bolt with ground cable.

10. Tighten bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).





11. Install mount through bolt (1) and tighten to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).





12. Install lower engine anti-roll mount bolt (2) and tighten bolts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

13. Install bolts (1) and tighten to 55 Nm (40.5 ft. lbs.).





14. Install bolts (1) and tighten to 55 Nm (40.5 ft. lbs.).





15. Tighten bolts (1) to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).

16. If equipped, install the belly pan.

17. Lower vehicle.

18. Connect the negative battery cable.
