Module, Keyless Ignition Node: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the instrument panel center stack trim panel to be able to reach in behind the instrument panel face and access the back Keyless Ignition Node (1) (KIN). Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, REMOVAL
.
- Carefully rotate the KIN (1) to access and disconnect the body harness connector (2) from the KIN. Be careful if rotating the KIN so as to not damage the "D" shaped hole in the instrument panel.
- This is a view of the KIN (1) removed from the instrument panel. There is one tab on the bottom, 2 tabs on the top, approximately 11:00 and 1:00 positions when viewed from the front of the KIN. These tabs need to be depressed in order to remove the KIN from the panel opening.
- Pull the KIN outward from the panel once the clips on the KIN have been released.
- Carefully unsnap and remove the silver trim ring from the KIN if it is to be used on the new KIN.
