Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:
For radios with Navigation that is dealer activated and radios with embedded Navigation, if possible, the version of the map and Point Of Interest (POI) data should be noted before the original radio is replaced with a new unit. If the version of the map and POI data found on the new radio is not equal to or newer than the version that is found, updated data will need to be downloaded and installed to the new radio at the expense of the dealer. For the Navigation system restore and update procedures, refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the radio display trim bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Remove the four Radio Receiver Module (RRM) to instrument panel screws (2).
- Carefully remove the RRM (1) while disconnecting all of the wire harness connectors.
