Clearing Codes

TheDiagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) in Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) memory are erased using the scan tool "Clear DTCs" selection. Be sure to verify proper system operation and absence of DTCs when clearing procedure is completed. The EBCM will not permit DTC clearing until all DTCs have been displayed. DTCs cannot be cleared by disconnecting EBCM, disconnecting battery cables, or turning ignition switch to LOCK position.

Scan tool can clear ABS system DTCs using mass storage cartridge. Use the following procedure:

Install scan tool and mass storage cartridge.
Select "Fault Memory".
Select "Clear Fault Memory".

NOTE: Clearing fault memory cannot reset a valve relay which was shut down when fault was recognized. Chances are possible only after fault has been eliminated and next ignition cycle has begun.
