- With ignition off. Install Sub-Harness (SST 0991-87702-000) on 6-pin check connector located near top of transaxle. Install a jumper wire between "F" terminal and ground terminal. See Fig 1 .
- Turn ignition on. Listen for sound of fuel flowing at pressure regulator or fuel pump operation. Turn ignition off. Remove jumper wire. If fuel pump operates, proceed to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE TEST .
- If fuel pump does not operate, with ignition on check for voltage at wire going to fuel pump. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If no power exists, check for defective EFI fuses or fusible link, ignition switch, main relay, fuel pump relay, or open in wiring circuit.
- If power exists, check for proper ground for fuel pump or defective fuel pump. Check EFI circuitry. See Figure , Figure , Figure and Figure . For main relay and fuel pump relay testing, see I - SYSTEMS/COMPONENT TESTING article.
NOTE:
In-tank fuel pump contains internal relief and check valve.
