Fuel-Cut System

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1990 Daihatsu Rocky and 1990 Daihatsu Charade. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. On Charade, remove glove compartment subassembly. On all models, connect Sub-Harness (SST 09842-87704-000) between ECU and engine wiring. See Figure .
    NOTE: Before installing sub-harness, ensure continuity exists on all sub-harness leads, and ensure none of the terminals are shorted together.
  2. Reconnect negative battery cable. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Install jumper wire between sub-harness terminals No. 32 and 29. See Figure .
  3. Gradually increase engine speed and note RPM at which engine speed stops increasing. Ensure engine RPM are within specifications. See FUEL-CUT SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS  . Disconnect negative battery cable and remove sub-harness. Reconnect ECU and install battery cable.
