Fig 1 Hall Effect Distributor:

DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove rotor from shaft, Fig. 1.
2. On 1980-81 models, remove screw holding pick-up lead.
3. Remove Hall Effect Pick-up Assembly lock springs and the pick-up assembly.
4. On 1980-81 models, remove two screws securing shield to distributor and the shield.
5. Mark position of drive gear on distributor shaft.
6. Remove roll pin with a suitable punch.
7. Remove drive gear, then the distributor shaft from housing.
8. Remove nylon spacer from shaft.

ASSEMBLY
1. Lightly lubricate housing bushings with engine oil.
2. Install shaft into housing, ensuring nylon spacer is resting on housing bushing.
3. Install drive gear onto distributor shaft in original position, aligning mating marks.
4. Drive in roll pin.
5. On 1980-81 models, install shield onto housing.
6. Place Hall Effect Pick-up Assembly into housing and secure with lock springs.
7. On 1980-81 models, secure Hall Effect Pick-up Assembly lead.
8. Install rotor onto shaft.
