Choke System Test
- Remove air cleaner and start engine. Choke should be fully open. If choke position is okay, go to step 3). If choke position is not okay, go to step 2).
- With engine running, connect voltmeter to choke feed wire and ground. Voltmeter should read within 1 volt of battery voltage. If voltage is okay, check for binding linkage. If okay, replace choke thermostat housing. If voltage is not okay, go to step 3).
- Turn off engine. Disconnect oil pressure switch connector. Connect voltmeter to terminal C of oil pressure switch connector and ground. Turn ignition switch to "RUN" position. Voltage should be within 1 volt of battery voltage. If voltage is okay, go to step 4). If voltage is not okay, repair open circuit in harness to ignition switch.
- Disconnect oil pressure switch connector. Connect ohmmeter between terminal A of connector and choke connector. Ohmmeter should show continuity with no resistance. If there is continuity, replace oil pressure switch. If there is no continuity, repair open circuit in harness.
