Solenoid Kicker Circuit Test
- Remove air cleaner cover. Turn ignition key to "RUN" position while looking at solenoid plunger. Slowly open throttle. Plunger should move out when key is turned on or when throttle is opened. If plunger movement is okay, go to step 3).
- If plunger movement is not okay, check solenoid adjusting screw to be sure that it is not turned in all the way (preventing plunger movement). If not, replace solenoid kicker.
- With ignition key in "RUN" position, disconnect vacuum line from solenoid kicker. Connect auxiliary vacuum supply to solenoid kicker. Apply 15 in. Hg of vacuum and then release vacuum. Plunger should move out when vacuum is applied and return when vacuum is released. If plunger movement is as described, go to CARBURETOR BOWL VENT SYSTEM TEST . If not, replace solenoid kicker.
