2.2L Electronic Fuel Control CEC: Description
NOTE:
All 2.2L models use the Spark Control Computer with Spark Advance and Throttle Control systems. Only models with Holley 6520 carburetors use oxygen sensor feedback system.
The Electronic Fuel Control (EFC) system is an electronically controlled system that closely controls ignition timing and, on models with oxygen sensor feedback system, air/fuel ratio. The Spark Control Computer (SCC) is the heart of the system.
The SCC provides the capability of igniting a lean air/fuel mixture under various engine operating conditions. Also, during closed loop operation on models with feedback system, the computer maintains an air/fuel ratio close to the ideal 14.7:1.
