Test 1 - Checking Diagnostic System For Fault Codes

Connect diagnostic read-out box to engine harness connector. Put system into Diagnostic Mode. Record all codes.
NOTE: If fault codes 22, 28, 25 or 26 appear at this time, proceed to TEST IDENTIFICATION chart.
Turn ignition off and disconnect the computer 14-pin connector for one minute and then reconnect it. Disconnect the diagnostic read-out box. Start engine and run for 2 minutes. Turn engine off. Reconnect the diagnostic read-out box. Put system into Diagnostic Mode. Record all codes.
If same code appears before and after engine is started, the problem still exists. Proceed to TEST IDENTIFICATION chart. If a code does not reappear after the engine is started, the problem no longer exists but was intermittent. Check for loose or corroded wiring connections in the circuit. Use wiring diagram as a guide.
