Engine Running Test Mode

  1. Connect diagnostic tool to engine harness connector. Engine running test mode can be performed with engine at idle, transmission in neutral and parking brake on, or while driving car.
  2. To select test code, move switch to "Read" position and depress actuator button until the desired code appears.
  3. Release actuator button and switch read/hold switch to "Hold" position. The SMEC will monitor that system test and results will be displayed.
NOTE: If using diagnostic equipment other than Chrysler's DRB-II, follow manufacturer's instructions on how to connect diagnostic read-out box and obtain codes. Some diagnostic read-out boxes will display information that is not contained in this testing. This information may not be relative to diagnosing a problem. Only information contained in this article should be used during diagnosis.
