TEST 12B - Checking Ground Supply & Diode Assembly For Open

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  1. Disconnect diode assembly connector. Diode assembly is located behind trim panel at left rear quarterpanel. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Ensure all doors are closed. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Dark Green wire) of diode assembly connector and ground.
  2. If right and left front door courtesy lights are off, repair open Yellow/Dark Green wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If right and left front door courtesy lights are on, disconnect jumper wire.
    NOTE: Continue with this test only if a problem exists with rear overhead lights.
  3. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 3 (Yellow wire) of diode assembly connector and ground. Check rear overhead lights. If rear overhead lights are off, repair open Yellow wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If rear overhead lights are on, replace diode assembly. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS .
