TEST 5A - Identifying Chime Problem
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Close all doors. If a speedometer problem exists, perform TEST 24A for Electronic Cluster or TEST 30A for Electro/Mechanical Cluster. If no speedometer problem exists, turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRB-II actuate chime test.
- If chime does not sound, replace body controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If chime sounds, stop chime test using DRB-II. Open left front door. Turn ignition switch to OFF position, remove key from ignition switch and then wait 30 seconds. Using DRB-II, read key-in-ignition switch status.
- If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, perform TEST 44C . If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, perform TEST 5B. If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE or CIRCUIT CLOSED, place key in ignition switch. If chime does not sound, perform TEST 5B . If chime sounds, turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Check turn signals for proper operation. If turn signals do not operate properly, repair turn signal circuit as necessary. If turn signals operate properly, turn left signal on. Using DRB-II, read left turn signal status. If DRB-II does not display OPEN and then CLOSE, perform TEST 5C.
- If DRB-II displays OPEN and then CLOSE, turn right turn signal on. Using DRB-II, read right turn signal status. If DRB-II does not display OPEN and then CLOSE, perform TEST 5D. If DRB-II displays OPEN and then CLOSE, perform TEST 28A.
