TEST 15A - Checking Left Pod Switch For Open
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
NOTE:
This test is only for inoperative courtesy lights controlled by left pod switch.
- Close side door. Turn courtesy lights on by sliding left pod switch. If courtesy lights are on, system is operational. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If courtesy lights are off, disconnect left pod switch assembly Black connector. Check connector condition and clean or repair connector as necessary.
- Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe terminal No. 6 (Black wire) of left pod switch Black connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 2 (Yellow wire) and No. 6 (Black wire) of left pod switch Black connector.
- Also connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 4 (Pink wire) and No. 5 (Pink/Light Blue wire) of left pod switch Black connector. If courtesy lights are on, replace left pod switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If courtesy lights are off, repair open Yellow wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS .
