TEST 40A - Checking Diode Assembly & Power Supply
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Inspect inoperative courtesy light bulb. Replace bulb as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If bulb is okay, disconnect inoperative light assembly. Check connectors, and clean or repair connectors as necessary. Place DRB-II in ohmmeter mode.NOTE: Ensure left front door is still open.
- Probe Yellow/tracer wire (color of tracer may vary) in inoperative light connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Yellow/tracer wire (color of tracer may vary). Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check if rear dome light is the only inoperative light. If rear dome light is not the only light that is inoperative, repair open in Pink/Light Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS .
- If rear dome light is the only inoperative light, access diode assembly. Diode assembly is located behind trim panel at left rear quarterpanel. Connect a jumper wire between Yellow/Black wire of diode assembly connector and ground.
- Check rear dome light. If rear dome light is off, repair open in Yellow/Black wire between diode assembly connector and rear dome light. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS . If rear dome light is on, replace diode assembly. Perform VERIFICATION TEST - VERIFICATION OF REPAIRS .
