Test 10B - Repairing Sense Circuits On Electro/Mechanical Instrument Cluster

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Stop faulty gauge actuation test. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) connector. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of low MIC sense circuit between MIC connector terminal No. 3 (Orange/Dark Blue wire) and Natural body controller connector terminal No. 10 (Orange/Dark Blue wire).
  3. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Orange/Dark Blue wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance of high MIC sense circuit between MIC connector terminal No. 5 (Light Blue wire) and Natural body controller connector terminal No. 12 (Light Blue wire).
  4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Light Blue wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace body controller.
