Test 50A - Compass/Mini Trip Module No Response

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. If compass/mini trip module display is blank, go to TEST 15B. If compass/mini trip module display is not blank, turn ignition off. Disconnect DRB-II and compass/mini trip module connector. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire) between compass/mini trip module connector terminal No. 3 and data link connector terminal No. 3.
  3. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance of CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire) between compass/mini trip module connector terminal No. 2 and data link connector terminal No. 4.
  4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace compass/mini trip module.
