Test 17A - Diagnosing ECO (Mpg) Function-Compass/Mini-Trip Module
NOTE:

article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Raise and support vehicle. Start engine and place in Drive (1st gear on manual transmission). Using DRB-II, read VSS as vehicle speed is increased. If DRB-II does not display correct vehicle speed, see appropriate G - TESTS W/ CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. If DRB-II displays correct vehicle speed, turn engine off with ignition on. Using DRB-II, read Powertrain Control Module (PCM) status.
- If DRB-II does not display ACTIVE ON BUS, refer to BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS tests. If DRB-II displays ACTIVE ON BUS, replace body controller.
