Test 21A - Diagnosing Side Door Memory Lock

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition on and ensure left front door is open and side door is closed. Using DRB-II, actuate auto door locks. If side door does not lock, go to step 5). If side door locks, stop door lock actuation.
  2. Ensure side door is closed and read door ajar switch status. If DRB-II does not display SIDE DR AJAR:OPEN, go to TEST 42A.
  3. If DRB-II displays SIDE DR AJAR:OPEN, open side door. Read door ajar switch status. If DRB-II does not display SIDE DR AJAR:CLOSED, go to TEST 42A.
    NOTE: Left front door MUST be open in following steps.
  4. If DRB-II displays SIDE DR AJAR:CLOSED, turn ignition off and remove key. Read key-in ignition status. If DRB-II does not display KEY IN IGN:OPEN, go to TEST 39B. If DRB-II displays KEY IN IGN:OPEN, replace body controller. Body controller is located under left side of instrument panel.
  5. Stop door lock actuation. If front doors do not lock, go to TEST 19A. If front doors lock, repair side door lock circuit.
