Test 37D - Checking For Short In Seat Belt Switch Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect left front seat belt switch connector. Connector is located under left front seat. Using DRB-II, read seat belt switch status. If DRB-II does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, replace left front seat belt switch. If DRB-II displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Disconnect Blue body controller connector. Body controller is located under left side of instrument panel. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Using DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of seat belt switch input circuit at Blue body connector terminal No. 3 (Light Green/Red wire). If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace body controller. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Red wire.
