Test 47D - Open Oil Pressure Sending Unit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Disconnect oil pressure sending unit. Connect a jumper wire between oil pressure sending unit sense circuit (Gray wire) and ground. Using DRB-II, read oil pressure sending unit status. If DRB-II displays OIL PRS LOW CLOSED, replace oil pressure sending unit. If DRB-II does not display OIL PRS LOW CLOSED, turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Disconnect Natural body controller connector. Body controller is located under left side of instrument panel. Using DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of oil pressure sending unit sense circuit at Natural body controller connector terminal No. 9 (Gray wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace body controller. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Gray wire.
