Test 8E - Repairing Short To Ground In Panel Lights Feed Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect left pod switch. Remove park light relay from power distribution center. Remove fuse No. 9 from fuse block. Place DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance of output circuit at park light relay connector Black/Yellow wire.
  2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Yellow wire and replace fuse No. 22. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, measure resistance of control circuit at park light relay connector Brown/Orange wire.
  3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Brown/Orange wire and replace fuse No. 22. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, measure resistance of fused battery feed circuit at park light relay connector Pink/Red wire.
  4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Red wire and replace fuse No. 22. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace fuse No. 22.
