Test 30A - Wiper Switch Power Supply Short To Ground
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Disconnect multifunction switch connector. Connector is located on upper part of steering column, behind trim cover. With DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on multifunction switch connector fused ignition feed circuit (Dark Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue wire and replace fuse No. 10. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, use an external ohmmeter to check high/low relay coil resistance between Dark Blue wire and Violet wire. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace high/low wiper relay and fuse No. 10. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If resistance is more than 10 ohms, use an external ohmmeter to check on/off relay coil resistance between Dark Blue wire and Dark Green/Yellow wire. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace on/off wiper relay and fuse No. 10. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace multifunction switch and fuse No. 10. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
