Test 44A - Left Front Door Ajar Switch Short To Ground
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Disconnect left front door ajar switch. Using DRB-II, read left front door ajar switch status. If DRB-II does not display LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace left front door ajar switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If DRB-II does display LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Controller Module (BCM) Gray connector. Module is located behind right kick panel. With DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on BCM Gray connector terminal No. 6, left front door ajar sense circuit (Tan wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Tan wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
