Test 15C - OTIS Miles Per Gallon (Mpg) Problem
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Using DRB-II, select engine controller and read engine controller faults. If a vehicle speed sensor problem is indicated, refer to appropriate article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
- If a vehicle speed sensor problem is not indicated, check if DRB-II indicates a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) voltage high fault. If TPS voltage high fault is indicated, refer to appropriate G - TESTS W/ CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
- If TPS voltage high fault is not indicated, check if DRB-II indicates a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) voltage low fault. If TPS voltage low fault is indicated, refer to appropriate G - TESTS W/ CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
- If TPS voltage low fault is not indicated, check if DRB-II displays NO CCD MESSAGE FROM BODY CONTROLLER module. If message is not displayed, go to TEST 53A. If message is displayed, replace body controller module. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
