Test 11A - Electro/Mech Instrument Cluster Odometer Failure

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using DRB, read trouble codes. If fault 08 (odometer test failure) exists, replace body control module. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If fault 08 does not exist, turn ignition off. Disconnect Electro/Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) connector. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1B. If connector is okay, go to next step.
  2. Check if odometer is original equipment. If odometer assembly has not previously been replaced, replace odometer assembly. Perform TEST VER-1B. If odometer assembly has been replaced previously, replace MIC printed circuit board. Perform TEST VER-1B.
