Test 20B - Repairing Power Door Lock Problems W/ RKE

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: RKE module may be accessed by carefully prying each end of instrument panel top cover and sliding cover forward to disengage front clips.
  1. Gain access to Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module. RKE module is located under instrument panel top cover, behind information center. Disconnect RKE module Black connector. Go to next step.
  2. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of RKE ground circuit (Black wire) at RKE module Black connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Connect a jumper wire between ground circuit (Black wire) and LF door unlock driver circuit (Dark Blue wire) at RKE module Black connector. Depress door lock switch to LOCK position. If LF door operates, replace RKE module. Perform TEST VER-1B. If LF door lock does not operate, go to next step.
  4. Remove jumper wire. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on battery feed circuit (Pink wire) at RKE module Black connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire. Perform TEST VER-1B. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  5. Check voltage on door lock switch lock output circuit (Orange/Violet wire) at RKE module Black connector. Depress door lock switch to LOCK position while observing DRB voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts while switch is in LOCK position, repair open Orange/Violet wire. Perform TEST VER-1B. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  6. Check voltage on door lock switch unlock output circuit (Pink/Violet wire) at RKE module Black connector. Depress door lock switch to UNLOCK position while observing DRB voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts while switch is in UNLOCK position, repair open Pink/Violet wire. Perform TEST VER-1B. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  7. Reconnect RKE module Black connector. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, backprobe LF door unlock driver circuit (Dark Blue wire) at RKE module connector. Depress door lock switch to UNLOCK position while observing DRB voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts while switch is in UNLOCK position, replace RKE module. Perform TEST VER-1B. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  8. Remove LF door panel. Disconnect LF door lock motor connector. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on lock relay output circuit (Orange/Black wire) at LF door lock motor connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Orange/Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1B. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  9. Check voltage on LF door lock driver circuit (Dark Blue wire) at LF door lock motor connector. Depress door lock switch to UNLOCK position while observing DRB voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Dark Blue wire. Perform TEST VER-1B. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace door lock motor.
