Test 46C - Open Oil Pressure Sending Unit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in this article. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS in this article.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect oil pressure sending unit connector. Connect a jumper wire between oil pressure sending unit sense circuit (Gray wire) at oil pressure sending unit connector and ground. Go to next step.
- Using DRB, read oil pressure sending unit status. If DRB displays OIL PRS LOW: CLOSED, replace oil pressure sending unit. Perform TEST VER-1B. If DRB does not display OIL PRS LOW: CLOSED, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Natural Body Control Module (BCM) connector. BCM is located behind center console. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of oil pressure sending unit sense circuit (Gray wire) at Natural BCM connector terminal No. 9. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Gray wire. Perform TEST VER-1B.
