Test 19A - Identifying Power Door Lock Problems
- If vehicle is equipped with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) go to TEST 20A. Diagnostics for power door locks for vehicles not equipped with RKE, are separated into 9 groups. Verify failure(s) or customer complaint and ensure vehicle is experiencing failure(s) or complaint at this time. Go to next step.
- Lower both front door windows. Close all doors. Lock and unlock doors from both front door switches. If doors lock and unlock properly, go to next step. If doors fail to lock or unlock properly, see DIAGNOSING POWER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT table, and perform appropriate test.DIAGNOSING POWER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT
Problem Perform TEST All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From Any Switch TEST 19B All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From One Switch TEST 19C All Doors Fail To Lock From Any Switch TEST 19D All Doors Fail To Lock From One Switch TEST 19E All Doors Fail To Unlock From Any Switch TEST 19F All Doors Fail To Unlock From One Switch TEST 19G One Door Fails To Lock & Unlock From Any Switch TEST 19H - Turn ignition off, but leave key in ignition switch. Open left front door. Lock doors from either switch. If doors lock, go to TEST 39B . If doors do not lock, and vehicle is equipped with speed sensitive locks, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with speed sensitive locks, system is operating properly. Perform TEST VER-1B .
- Drive vehicle with all doors closed and unlocked. Reach a speed of 15 MPH. If doors fail to lock, go to TEST 19J . If doors lock, system is operating properly. Perform TEST VER-1B.
