Test 10C - Repairing Open GND To Electro/Mech Inst CLSTR

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using DRB, stop actuation test. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Electro/Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) connector. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If connector is okay, go to next step.
  2. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of signal ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire) at MIC connector terminal No. 7. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black/Light Green wire. Perform TEST VER-1B. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Remove faulty gauge and inspect MIC printed circuit. If MIC printed circuit is okay, replace faulty gauge. Perform TEST VER-1B. If MIC printed circuit is defective, replace MIC printed circuit. Perform TEST VER-1B.
