Test 31A - EVIC Panel Switch Test

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Using DRB, read EVIC time switch status. If DRB displays TIME SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB does not display TIME SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Press and hold TIME button on EVIC panel. If DRB does not display TIME SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB displays TIME SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Release TIME button. Using DRB, read body controller module status. If DRB displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 69A  . If DRB does not display NO RESPONSE, go to next step.
  4. If clock fails to operate properly, replace Body Control Module (BCM). If clock operates properly, go to next step.
  5. Using DRB, read EVIC temperature switch status. If DRB displays TEMP SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB does not display TEMP SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  6. Press and hold TEMP button on EVIC head panel. If DRB does not display TEMP SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB displays TEMP SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  7. Release TEMP button. If a compass/temperature problem exists (if equipped with compass/temperature module), go to TEST 55A  . If temperature/compass problem does not exist, go to next step.
  8. Using DRB, read EVIC fuel switch status. If DRB displays FUEL SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB does not display FUEL SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  9. Press and hold EVIC panel FUEL button. If DRB does not display FUEL SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB displays FUEL SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  10. Release TEMP button. If distance to EMPTY is not correct, go to TEST 31B. If distance to EMPTY is correct, go to next step.
  11. Using DRB, read EVIC US/M switch status. If DRB displays US/M : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB does not display US/M : CLOSED, go to next step.
  12. Press and hold US/M button on EVIC panel. If DRB does not display US/M : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB displays US/M : CLOSED, go to next step.
  13. Release US/M button. Using DRB, read EVIC information switch status. If DRB displays INFO SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB does not display INFO SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  14. Press and hold INFO button on EVIC panel. If DRB does not display INFO SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB displays INFO SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  15. Release INFO button. Using DRB, read EVIC set switch status, if DRB displays SET SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB does not display SET SWITCH : CLOSED, go to next step.
  16. Press SET button on EVIC panel. If DRB does not display SET SWITCH : CLOSED, replace EVIC panel monitor. If DRB displays SET SWITCH : CLOSED, verify customer's complaint and retest system.
