Test 55E - Repairing Compass Calibration

NOTE:

. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair. NOTE: For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Calibrate compass/temperature module using following procedure:
- Locate an area free from magnetic disturbance.
- Make 3 complete circles in vehicle without stopping.
- CAL will display during turns.
- CAL will turn off after third circle.
- If compass is correct, repair is complete. If compass is not correct, go to next step.CAUTION: Following step should be used ONLY if compass is still faulty after preceding steps.
- Use a hand-held degausser to demagnetize vehicle. If compass is now correct, repairs are complete. If compass is not correct, replace compass/temperature module.
