WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn courtesy lamps on by opening left door. If courtesy lamps do not illuminate, go to TEST 47B. If courtesy lamps illuminate, observe key in lamp. If key in lamp illuminates, go to step 5). If key in lamp does not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at BCM Black connector terminal No. 19 (Yellow/Red wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Gain access to key in ignition switch connector. See Fig 1 . Put DRB in voltmeter mode. With connector connected, measure voltage at key in ignition switch connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Red wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Yellow/Red wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Measure voltage at key in ignition switch connector terminal No. 4 (Pink wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair or replace key in ignition lamp bulb socket.
  5. While observing key in lamp, turn ignition switch to ON position. If key in lamp turns off, replace BCM. If key in lamp does not turn off, key in lamp is operational at this time.
