Test 63D - Repairing Chime With Driver Door Open

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Remove key from ignition switch. Ensure headlamps and parking lamps are off. Open driver's door. If chime does not sound, system is okay at this time. If chime sounds, go to next step.
  2. Using DRB, read key in ignition status. If DRB displays KEY IN IGN : CLOSED, go to TEST 64H. If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN : CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Using DRB, read headlamp status. if DRB displays HEAD-LAMPS: OFF, replace Body Control Module (BCM). If DRB does not display HEADLAMPS : OFF, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect BCM Natural connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check condition of connector and clean or repair connector as necessary. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage on BCM Natural connector terminal No. 16 (Brown wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair Brown wire for short to voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace BCM.
