Test 64G - Repairing Open Key In Ignition Circuit

IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect key in ignition switch connector. See Figure . Connect a jumper wire between key in ignition switch connector Light Blue and Black/Orange wires. If DRB displays KEY IN IGN : CLOSED, replace ignition switch. If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between key in ignition switch connector Light Blue wire and ground. If DRB displays KEY IN IGN : CLOSED, repair Black/Orange wire. If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check condition of connector and clean or repair connector as necessary. Connect a jumper wire between BCM Black connector terminal No. 4 (Light Blue wire) and ground. If DRB displays KEY IN IGN : CLOSED, repair open Light Blue wire. If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN : CLOSED, replace BCM.
