Test 43C - Repairing Intermittent Wiper Problem

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right side kick panel. Disconnect BCM Black connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Put DRB in volt-meter mode.
  2. Measure voltage at BCM black connector terminal No. 9 (White/Black wire). With probe connected, slide wiper switch to each intermittent mode. If voltage is present in each intermittent mode, replace BCM. If voltage is not present in each intermittent mode, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect right pod switch. See Figure . Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of White/Black wire between BCM Black connector terminal No. 9 and right pod switch connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace right pod switch. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire.
