Test 39A - Open Left Front Door Ajar Circuit

NOTE: Perform TEST 31A  , 33A, 34A or 93A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal Identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect left front door ajar switch connector. Inspect left front door ajar switch connector ground strap for damage or corrosion. Repair ground strap as necessary. If ground strap is okay, go to next step.
  2. Connect jumper wire between ground and Tan wire on left front door ajar switch connector. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace left front door ajar switch. If scan tool does not display LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 6 (Tan wire) on BCM Gray connector. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, repair open Tan wire. If scan tool does not display LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace BCM.
