Test 82A - Blank Screen Or No Response Condition On OTIS

NOTE: Perform SYMPTOM ID TEST 1A  - IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS or TEST 81A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect OTIS 4-pin connector. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 3 (Black/Light Green wire) on OTIS 4-pin connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal No. 4 (Dark Blue/White wire) on OTIS 4-pin connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Dark Blue/White wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 1 (White/Black wire) on OTIS 4-pin connector. Using scan tool, read CCD bus status. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORTED TO GROUND, repair open White/Black wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORTED TO GROUND, disconnect jumper wire. Go to next step.
  4. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 2 (Violet/Brown wire) on OTIS 4-pin connector. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORTED TO GROUND, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORTED TO GROUND, replace OTIS module.
