Test 27A - Repairing Low Speed (On/Off) WPR MTR RLY & CNTRLS
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Remove jumper wire. Remove high/low wiper relay (relay No. 10) from Power Distribution Center (PDC). See Figure . PDC is located on left front fender apron. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on high/low wiper relay connector terminal "A" (Dark Blue wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to TEST 29A . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Using DRB, actuate wiper motor in low speed mode. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, backprobe on/off wiper relay (relay No.6) connector terminal "C" (Dark Green/Yellow wire). If voltage pulsates between zero and more than 0.2 volt, replace on/off wiper relay. If voltage does not pulsate between zero and 0.2 volt, go to next step.
- Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. Using DRB, actuate wiper motor in low speed mode. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, backprobe BCM Bone connector terminal No. 1 (Dark Green/Yellow wire). If voltage pulsates between zero and more than 0.2 volt, repair open Dark Green/Yellow wire between BCM and on/off wiper relay. If voltage does not pulsate between zero and more than 0.2 volt, replace BCM.
