Test 33C - Open Park Switch Sense Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Place wiper switch in low speed position. Using DRB, read wiper park switch status. Observe DRB closely, up to 30 seconds, during the following steps. DRB reading will change momentarily between closed and open, if at all, during sweep. Go to next step.
  2. If DRB reading toggles at least once WIPER PK SW OPEN/CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. If DRB reading does not toggle at least once, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Connector is located on engine compartment firewall, just right of power brake booster. Connect jumper wire between chassis ground and wiper motor connector terminal No. 1 (Tan/Red wire). If DRB displays WIPER PK SW CLOSED, replace wiper motor. If DRB does not display WIPER PK SW CLOSED, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between chassis ground and BCM Bone connector terminal No. 2 (Tan/Red wire). Using DRB, read wiper park switch status. If DRB displays WIPER PK SW CLOSED, repair open Tan/Red wire. If DRB does not display WIPER PK SW CLOSED, replace BCM.
