Test 34B - Washer Pump Controls
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Ensure washer fluid lines and nozzles are not damaged or restricted. Repair as necessary. Disconnect windshield washer pump connector. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of windshield washer pump connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Press and hold windshield washer button on end of wiper/washer stalk. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on windshield washer pump connector terminal No. 1 (Brown wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Brown wire between wiper/washer switch and windshield washer pump connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace windshield washer pump.
